Cinemonde.org: Ending Hollywood's Monopoly

Chapter 3 of my book describes a future scenario in which an organization called Cinemonde produces nearly as many films as all the major studios in Hollywood combined in 2025.

Cinemonde managed to do this by coming up with a revolutionary concept: let film lovers decide which films are to be produced. The procedure is simple. Independent directors and producers use the Cinemonde.org Web site to showcase their film projects to millions of people, encouraging them to invest $5 or more in their production.

I have received extremely encouraging feedback from reporters and the public in North America and Europe since the book came out in November 2003. Film lovers are really excited about the idea of putting an end to Hollywood's monopoly and freeing film-making from today's commercial shackles.

Of all the ideas in the book, Cinemonde is without a doubt the most feasible over the short term using current Internet technology.
